Who We Are
VotingIndustry.com was founded by Christopher Wilson in October of 2002. Chris has been in the Information Technology industry for 24 years with the last 14 years devoted to elections administration. He worked for Fidlar and Chambers (now Fidlar Software) from 1995 until 2000. At Fidlar he was the Territory Support Manager for Ohio. In that capacity he supported counties in Ohio, Michigan and Indiana. He was responsible for installations, training and on-going support to elections offices as well as other county offices.
In 2000 he took the position of Election Technology Administrator for the Franklin County Board of Elections (Columbus , Ohio). There he was responsible for the installation, training and support of a newly (1999) purchased VR system. In that time Chris worked to greatly increase the role of technology in the office, and streamline many procedures. In 2004 a new voter registration system was installed to replace the substandard system purchased in 1999. The system was in place and live in Mid-September 2004 (6 weeks before a Presidential election). In 2005 - 2006 Chris was the IT Manager for an election office in Florida.
In June 2006, Chris taught the certification course on election technology to the Ohio Association of Elections Officials at their summer conference in Cleveland. Again, in 2007 he taught the Ethics certification course for the OAEO.
Chris has over 15 years of teaching experience at the college level and remains an active adjunct faculty member at Columbus State Community College and Ohio Dominican University where he still teaches a course or two per year. He holds both a B.A. and M.A. from The Ohio State University.
In 2007, Mr. Wilson started developing a system of voting based on Anoto Digital paper and digital pens. These pens can also be used to automate other election processes such as voter registration forms. For more details on this new and exciting technology, visit www.penvote.com
